SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS NEW STADIUM
DR. SONIA BELL was invited by the team physician for the SF 49er's from her alma mada, Stanford University Hospital and Clinics to visit the new stadium and locker room.USA GYMNASTICS VISA CHAMPIONSHIPS 2012
DR. SONIA BELL was invitied by USA Gymnastics to be one of the team physicians for the USA Gymnastics VISA Championships in St. Louis, MO in June of 2012. This event is a qualifying event for the Olympic Trials for America's elite gymnasts. The future Olympiads will be competing in our backyard at the 2012 Gymnastic Olympic Trials in San Jose, CA from June 28-July 1. Come show your support for the future USA Gymnastics Team for the 2012 London Olympics. GO TEAM USA!!
SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES YOUTH SOCCER
TEAM AVANTI teams up with the San Jose Earthquakes and Wells Fargo Bank for the 4 x 4 Soccer Tournaments during the summer months. Avanti has provided medical support for the events over the past two years. San Jose Earthquake players come out to sign autographs and Wells Fargo Bank even brings out the famous coach, but unfortunately without the horses. These annual events are good summertime fun.
TOMMIE SMITH YOUTH TRACK MEET
DR. SONIA BELL and members of TEAM AVANTI volunteered their medical services for the annual Tommie Smith Youth Track Meet sponsored by the Bay Area Chapter of 100 Black Men. There were 800 participants for this track and field meet which was held at the UC Berkeley's Edwards Track Stadium. The participants came from all over the country to compete. Dr. Tommie Smith and John Carlos silent gestures on the Mexico City Olympic Podium in 1968 served to be one of the most overtly political statementsin the history of the modern Olympic Games.
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN HOOP
TEAM AVANTI has worked with the Vice Mayor of Oakland, Desley Brooks, over the past three years to provide medical support and massage for the local athletes competiting in the So You Think you Can Hoop 3 x3 Competition held at the Oracle Coliseum. Its a fun two day event for the whole family. Local celebrities and athletes have been known to stop by to say hello and sign autographs for the kids and fans every year.
2012 first round draft pick, Harrison Barnes, for the Golden State Warriors visits So You Think You can Hoop support the participants.
AVANTI AT THE 2010 VANCOUVER WINTER OLYMPICS
Avanti Sports Medicine & Fitness medical consultant, KRISTEN WINGFIELD, MD, went to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games as one of the team physician for the Canadian Ski Team.
Opening and Closing Ceremonies
The Olympic Winter Games Opening Ceremony took place at Vancouver's BC Place on February 12, 2010. The Closing Ceremony on February 28, 2010 waseld at BC Place.

OAKLAND RUNNING FESTIVAL
Avanti Sports Medicine & Fitness Team provided medical support and massage for therst Annual Oakland Running Festival for a marathon, half marathon, 4-person relay and kid fun run on Saturday and Sunday, March 27th and 28th.
The participants were invited to come the day before the event to speak with the Oakland Raider's Team Physician about their sports related injuries. DR SONIA BEL, USA Track & Field Team Physician, offered injury evaluation and discounted sports medicine physical or injury evaluation coupon.

PRO AMATEUR BEACH SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP
DR SONIA BELL of Avanti Sports Medicine & Fitness has been the acting medical director for the Pro Amateur Beach Soccer League for three years. Beach soccer begun on the beaches of Brazil and has rapidly become a world wide phenomenon.
California's Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk hosts this annual championship event in June, bringing together over 1200 male and female participantsranging from 7 years of age to the elite adult players from the national team. It's a fast pace, exhilarating competitive sport requiring skill and endurance, that has the potential for sustaining injuries as varied as the ages of the participants of the competition. Avanti's team has been ready each year!!!

2010 SOUTH AFRICAN FIFA WORLD CUP
AVANTI SPORTS MEDICINE & FITNESS' president and owner, SONIA BELL, MD, visits South Africa to attend the FIFA World Cup and to meet with sports medicine physicans from around the world to discuss soccer related sports injury and field medical management.
ALCATRAZ TRIATHLON
Avanti Sports Medicine & Fitness provided the medical team for the 2010 San Francisco Triathlon at Alcatraz Island. The race begins with a treacherous swim through the strong currents of the frigid San Francisco Bay. It is followed by biking through the sharp turns and agonizing hill climbs of the streets of San Francisco and ends with a with a beach run that test the endurance of the most elite athlete. This year, 1800 participated in this test of aerobic endurance and mental fortitued. Avanti Sports Medicine & Fitness' Team provided preventative and onsite medical services, as well as triaged medical emergencies for one of San Francisco's most challenging triathlon events.
