Dr. Ardizzone is a surgically-trained podiatrist who specializes in treating all aspects of sports-related foot and ankle injuries. Her practice focuses on recreational to professional level sports injuries, in addition to all aspects of musculoskeletal complaints of the foot and ankle. Her training encompasses conservative rehabilitation management, biomechanical evaluation and orthotics, and advanced surgical training, including arthroscopy. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and a Fellow in the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Ardizzone graduated with honors from the University of California at Berkeley with a double major in art history and French. She competed her medical training at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. She received her surgical residency training at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center at San Francisco, Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in San Diego, and Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Oakland. Additionally, Dr. Ardizzone completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine with Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Associates (S.O.A.R.) in Redwood City. Personally, Dr. Ardizzone has over 20 years experience as a ballet dancer. She enjoys seeing dancers, soccer players, baseball players, basketball players, runners, gymnasts and ice skaters. She has worked extensively with the San Francisco Ballet School, Marin Dance Theater, and Marin Ballet. She is a Bay Area native familiar with the active and dynamic lifestyle of this region. Recent media appearances include being a regular featured guest on the Joanie Greggains Show on KGO Radio 810 discussing common foot and ankle injuries, as well as past web appearances for the Bridge-to-Bridge Run offering advice on selecting the right athletic shoes and treating acute injuries. She has been featured on KPIX Channel 7 “Seven Salutes”, a series saluting people making a difference in the Bay Area. Dr. Ardizzone was featured for her role in the Center’s Dancers Clinic, which provides low-cost screening exams for uninsured dancers. She currently practices at the James G. Garrick, MD Centers for Sports Medicine, located at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco, and at the Town Center in Corte Madera.
