Dr. Sonja Moelleken graduated from State University of New York, College at Albany with a double major in pre-medicine and German literature. After earning her M.D. degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (1992), Dr. Moelleken completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Greater Baltimore Medical Center and her radiology residency at the University of California, San Francisco, where she was chief resident.  Dr. Moelleken continued her training with a fellowship in Musculoskeletal MRI at the University of California, San Francisco.
 
Dr. Moelleken, who has been an assistant clinical professor at the University of California, San Francisco Department of Radiology since 2001, has special interest in sports medicine MRI and musculoskeletal MRI.  She is proficient in MRI (neurological MRI, body MRI and MR angiography) and CT (certified in cardiovascular CTA).  Dr. Moelleken is widely published in both paleontology and radiology literature, and has made numerous presentations over the course of her career.
